Timperley Villa U9 Jets vs Mersey Valley
The U9 Jets played away at Mersey Valley on Saturday. The boys played really well with some great passing and tackling on show. Mersey Valley then got back into the game with some strong attacking. The boys should be really proud of how they played the game and their teamwork, it was great to see.
Timperley Villa U10 Wasps v AFC Urmston Meadowside U10 Predators
A good football game played in a good spirit by two teams both showing improvement on last season.
A big plus point this week was a planned reduction in direction from the coaches on the sideline. The boys were asked to take ownership of play themselves, this approach will continue for future games. Well done lads!
Timperley Villa U15 Tornadoes vs U15 Hough End Griffin Juniors
The Tornadoes U15 took their first point in over a season. With a refreshed team we played against a Hough End side that has also beat us previously. They had 3 subs and we had none. We also had to play with 10 players for the last 15 minutes of the first half due to injury.
Our team showed real spirit with increasingly tired legs in the second half to finish the game 0-0. All players were cheered off the pitch by the parents and I shook each of their hands personally as they left the field. It felt like we had won the cup – everyone was so happy with a 0-0 result and the players go back to school this week with their heads held high.
Absolutely brilliant for a team that was so close to folding at the end of last season when 50% of the old team left. New people, new mind set new opportunity to succeed 😊
Timperley Villa U15 Lightning vs Wilmslow Town U15 Jaguars
On Sunday, the U15 Lightning hosted Wilmslow Town at Beech Fields. The game didn’t fail to live up to its billing as a very tough battle ensued.
The contest was hard fought, and Wilmslow’s early pressure could well have resulted in the Lightnings facing a difficult uphill struggle - if only they could have converted more of their chances.
With Wilmslow narrowly leading at half-time, a rejuvenated Lightnings, came back stronger in the second half as they dug in deep at the back and nosed in front with two excellently taken goals.
In spite of a late rally from Wilmslow and some frantic goal mouth action, Wilmslow were left rueing their missed chances.
A brace from Henry and goals from Harry and Ben L sealed the victory, which leaves the Lightning with maximum points from 3 games.
Timperley Villa U9 Giants vs AFC Urmston Meadowside U9 Titans
U9 Giants played some really good football and the lads are starting to gel together as a team. A very deserving Noah was named as man of the match this week.Well done guys.
Timperley Villa U17 Pumas vs Ashton on Mersey U18 Predators
Timperley Villa U17 Pumas played Ashton On Mersey FC U18 Predators today and thankfully the weather held out. The Pumas started slowly going 2-0 down to two ‘wonder goals’, both in the top corner.
After this the Pumas started to take control, drawing level by halftime. The second half saw the Pumas in control of the game, especially in the final 15 minutes when Ashton began to tire, however despite numerous chances the Pumas couldn’t convert any and the game finished in a disappointing draw.
Timperley Villa U17 Volcanoes vs Sale Utd U17 Zapotecs
A traditionally tight game went true to form up to half-time, with the teams going into the break at 0-0. In the second half though the Volcanoes found a little more energy and creativity and took the lead on 65 minutes with an over-head flick from Gabe at close range just sneaking into the net after a corner. The game was still too close to call until some great interplay down the right between Max and Omar ended in a ball across the face of the goal that Stan did well to turn in to the net. Gabe added a third direct from a free-kick, with the goalkeeper possibly deceived by Jim's attempt to glance it into the net without actually making contact with the ball!
Timperley Villa U13 Falcons vs Timperley Villa U13 Hawks
The first interconnected derby between the U13 Falcons and Hawks lived up to its billing. An incredibly tight first half saw the match open up in the second half with the Hawks recording their first win of the season. Well played both sides in what was an entertaining game for all.
Timperley Villa U11 Wizards vs Egerton FC U11 Panthers
The U11 Wizards rocking the blue change kit before their game against Egerton Panthers at Beech Fields.
The Wizards played fantastically and really gave the panthers a run for their money. Although the Panthers gave us a run for our money for much of the first half, a rampant second half performance, which included a hat-trick from Joseph and brace from Dylan, saw us run out comfortable winners. It was a real team effort though, with MOM performances all over the park. Real determination and great team spirit, we’re already looking forward to next week’s trip to Wilmslow
Timperley Villa U11 Dragons vs Wythenshawe Amateurs U11 Tigers
The Dragons entertained Wythenshawe Amateurs at Beech fields on Saturday. A fiesty first half saw the Dragons match the opposition for strength along with playing some great football only to be denied by the Wythenshawe keeper on numerous occasions.
The second half saw the Dragons play there best football of the game. Austin was denied a goal on numerous occasions whilst our new keeper Ollie kept Wythenshawe out of our net.
Charlie grabbed another goal, then George fired an effort into the bottom corner from a tight angle.
The team battled all over the pitch and deserved the outcome. An excellent performance from every single player. Well done to everyone!!
Timperley Villa U14 Vixens Vs Lymm Rover Juniors U14
Great game for the Vixens today against Lymm Rover Juniors U14 Leopards, with goals from Annie, Ava and two from Sophia.
Timperley Villa U10 Scorpions vs Sale Communities JFC U10 Falcons
The U10 Scorpions had a fantastic game on Saturday where they played away at Sale. Well done to all the lads!
Timperley Villa U11 Knights vs Broadheath Central U11 Lazio
The U11 Knights travelled to Broadheath and took part in a fantastic game.
After going a goal up we soon found ourselves down but yet again heads stayed up and the boys battled hard to get back on terms. But in true Knights style there was a never say die spirit.... and the equaliser came....and with fifteen seconds left Andres in his debut season netted a goal. Outstanding
