Timperley Villa match updates 1st & 2nd February

Timperley Villa FC U11 Wizards vs AFC Urmston Meadowside U11 Barca

A really good match at Beechfields between the u11 Wizards and Urmston Meds Barca

The Wizards came from behind to draw in a really close game

The goals came from Harry and Rowan and the whole team played really well to come back for the draw

Timperley Villa FC U9 Jets vs Egerton Football Cub U9 Panthers

The Jets kicked off the U9 Spring Cup with a home match against Egerton Panthers. This was our third match against this team in recent months and we got off to a good start with plenty of possession and some early goals. The boys defended well, but also passed the ball well to create chances to score. We enjoyed four goals from Jacob, a hat-trick for Jack, with goals from Bobby and Charlie too. Will received our man of the match award for his solid goal keeping in the first half and for his tenacious outfield tackling and defending in the second half. Well done Jets!

Timperley Villa FC U9 Giants vs FC Sorting Sale U9 Cheetahs

U9 giants played FC sporting Sale away, some good all round performances, lots of passing and movement. Liam was Man of the match with 2 goals and a special mention for Noah and Harry who shared the goal keeping duty’s and both did brilliant. The whole team showed lots of team spirit and rallied around each other when needed.

Timperley Villa FC U18 Spartans vs West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC U17

At youth level the Spartans beat West Didsbury & Chorlton, 3-2 in an end to end game. WDC went 1 up mid way through the first half but the Spartans remained calm and struck twice towards the end of the first half with goals from Jack and Leon. With another goal from Jack early in the second half Villa thought they had the points in the bag but WDC fought to get back in the game and did so with 20 minutes remaining. They went looking for an equaliser and were only denied by heroic and last gasp defending from the make shift Timperley defence. The visitors thought they had equalised in the dying seconds only for the Spartans captain and goalie, Anthony, pulling off a superb save.

The two teams meet again next Sunday in the reverse fixture, lets hope for the same result.
