Timperley Villa match reports 7th - 8th December 2019

Timperley Villa Pumas U17 v West Didsbury & Chorlton U18

Their last game of 2019 saw the U17 Pumas hosting West Didsbury U18s, having comprehensively beaten the West Didsbury U17s only a fortnight ago hopes were high for a successful outcome.

A free-flowing game saw both sides with chances to open the scoring, however it was West Didsbury who broke the deadlock halfway through the first half when James F gave away a soft penalty which Tom W almost got a hand to but couldn’t keep out. Shortly before halftime, James F made amends with a run all the way down the right wing before hammering the ball into the top corner, his first goal in around eight years with Timperley Villa. So, the first half ended all square at 1-1.

The second half continued the same way as the first, with free-flowing football. Timperley managed to edge themselves ahead when Ben cut in to slot the ball home with almost the last life of his boots. Both sides had more chances in the remaining quarter of an hour of the match, with West Didsbury throwing all their players up on several occasions but dogged defending by the Timperley lads saw the match finish 2-1 in their favour.

As a result of other match postponements this result meant the Pumas leapfrogged Sale Utd to go top of the table, an excellent way to finish 2019.

Timperley villa U9 Jets vs Edgerton Football club U9 Panthers

The U9 Jets played away again at Egerton on Saturday in a re-arranged fixture as a result of the frozen pitches the previous weekend. The boys got off to a fantastic start with some early goals. The goals were a combination of some great dribbling and individual skills to get in on goal, as well as some really good passing and build ups, which was really pleasing to see. It was a great all round team performance, with goals and assists coming from across the whole team. Well done boys, you've had a fantastic start to the season - enjoy the Christmas break and we look forward to starting the Europa League games in the new year!
