FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FA RESPECT CAMPAIGN

‘Respect’ is The FA's programme of activities to combat unacceptable behaviour in the game at every level - on the pitch and from the sidelines.

Key elements relating to Youth football include:

Ø      Referee recruitment and retention: By tackling abuse towards match officials, we hope to reduce the stream of referees understandably leaving the game.

Ø      Participation within youth football: Abuse and pressure from the sidelines needs to stop if we are to ensure young children enjoy, stay and progress in the game.

For more information, please go to    www.thefa.com/TheFA/Respect

As part of the Respect campaign, the Timperley & District Junior Football League now require all supporters to be on one side of the pitch, behind a suitable barrier. Timperley Villa fully supports this initiative and is applying this to home games in the Stockport Metro League (U11 & U16) as well as to T&D JFL games.

Please play your part in supporting the Respect campaign and always:

Ø      Remain behind the designated supporter barrier along one side of the pitch

Ø      Never enter the field of play during the match

Ø      Never spectate from behind the goals or the other side of the pitch

Ø      Always support in a positive way and refrain from any criticism of the players, Referee or opposition.

Ø      Leave the Manager to ‘coach’ the players during the game and refrain from shouting your own instructions.

Ø      Always observe the TV ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy  Click Here for Details on this Policy
