FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TVFC PRIZE GIVING AFTERNOON
In a departure from tradition, the Club organized its first prize giving day
with
the aim of bringing all players to St Hugh's and ensuring they had a great day
of fun.
There was a bouncy castle for the youngsters, a 4 aside footy tournament and a
hit the bar competition as well as a BBQ.
The day was a huge success thanks in part to the weather that was very kind to
us.
Feedback from all the age groups was excellent with many kids staying on site
for 5 hours.
From the committee's perspective it was great that the day achieved its
primary objective of providing a great social experience and also that it
covered the costs of set up.
Pulling each age group in for their prize giving was an efficient way of handing
out
the 250 trophies won by the members. Some of the awards were for long service
from both players and managers with the record of 12 consecutive seasons going
jointly to the Starkey boys. A number of players and managers have made
their last contributions to the club and we wish them well in their retirements.
A huge thanks must go to those who helped make the day a success. In particular
the following individuals should be hugely proud of their contribution:- Del,
Sean, Dessie, Terry, Andy, Catherine, Clare and Colin. Many others assisted and
contributed and we are, as always, very grateful
Finally a huge thanks to all members who came down and spent time and money with
us.
