Developing for Fun
We are the local family football Club where boys and girls of all
abilities are welcomed. We can accommodate children from 5 years and
have representative teams competing from U8 to U18’s.
Developing for Fun is the concept that underpins everything we do. We
strongly believe that youth football must first be fun for the kids,
coaches, officials and supporters. This requires that it is played in a
safe, supportive and disciplined environment in which everyone is
encouraged to develop social, football and teamwork skills.
Developing for fun also includes the social aspects of youth sports. We
rely on volunteers for all aspects of the Club’s activities and so
encourage our players parents to contribute some time to help out – and
as a result make new friends from within the Club. Our annual Winter’s
Evening event focuses on the adults and is a chance for them to let
their hair down.
As an FA Charter Standard Club you can be assured that we adhere to the
highest standards in terms of child protection and player development.
All our coaches are FA qualified and they work within a well thought out
development framework that ensures we progress each individual player at
an appropriate rate.
We have a clear view of our capacity to provide players an excellent
environment to play football in. Our objective is to fill this capacity
and ensure that we don’t overload the coaching team with too many
players. We are not aiming to select only the best players – football is
open to all who want to develop for fun.
We deliberately set our player subscription level at the lower to mid
range level compared to other Clubs. At around £3 per week inclusive, we
represent excellent value for money.
