Club Charity
One of the nation’s top organisations for pediatric research and
care, Manchester Children's University Hospitals Charity is dedicated to
the critical care needs of children. The charity raises money for the
Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester and Booth Hall Children's
Hospitals, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, Saint Mary's Hospital for
Women and Children and The University Dental Hospital of Manchester. The
charity funds essential research into life saving treatments and plays
an important role in improving the hospital experience for young
patients. The charity is well supported by a range of community
leaders; including celebrities
and sports stars. The hospital was
visited by the Manchester United which included a visit from Gary
Neville the United captain and Cristiano Ronaldo. Manchester City
football players, such as David James also dropped by to say hello, and
so did famous faces from Coronation Street which really brightened up
the children’s days! However the charity still always needs more help
from everyone.
The boys and managers of the club are working hard to raise money for
a specific area of the charity, the Children's Cancer + Leukemia Fund.
This particular fund is very close to the heart of Timperley Villa as
the sister of one our players is very poorly and we want to do all we
can to help her and her family. We have already carried out a number of
charity events that have involved all age groups at the club including a
sponsored penalty shoot out and a carwash which were very successful.
Later this year the boys from different age groups will be taking part
bag packing sessions at a local supermarket to raise money for the Fund.
