Letter from the Chairman

I am delighted and honoured to have taken on the role of Chairman for the Club in June 06. My predecessor, Peter Walker, held the role for more than 14 years and has served the club with distinction throughout. 

Our challenges are exciting. The profile of football has never been higher and our role is to provide as many children as possible with the opportunity to learn about “the beautiful game” and have fun at the same time. I want all of our players to understand how to compete fairly, to push themselves beyond what they think is possible and to build lasting friendships as a result of their membership of the club. 

As anyone who has seen me on the training ground will testify, my own playing career was not distinguished. However, thanks to football I learned how to be a team player and support my colleagues to the best of my ability. My role as Chairman offers me the opportunity to work with some great people and, with their help, develop the Club to new levels of excellence. We would all welcome your assistance in whatever form that might take.
