Volunteering @ TVYFC

The club relies on funding from various sources to subsidise the subscription income we receive from members and pay for the cost of coaching, facilities, equipment and kit.  Our aim is to provide suitable facilities to allow the players to enjoy their football, as well as developing new relationships within a wide social network.

In order to both sustain and move the club forward and to strengthen the structure of the club and give much needed stability we need to accelerate our activities.  In addition we want to strive to make the club more of a community organisation by engaging as many people as possible to help ease the burden as well as enjoying the social side of Timperley Villa.

What do we want to achieve?

We want to extend our programme of events and activities such as:

  • Evening social functions
  • Player supported events (Car washing, bag packing)
  • Club lottery
  • Grant funding support
  • Commercial sponsorship

which will allow us to develop as well as keeping our membership fees as low as possible. All of the profit from our activities goes directly back into the club and the ultimately benefits the players.

How can you help?

Everyone has a valuable set of skills which can be put to good use; we aren’t looking for Richard Branson or Alan Sugar.  Can you spare some time to manage our admin or update the website?  Maybe you have contacts who could supply or source sporting merchandise which we could raffle or auction.

There are many tasks involved with running the club, be it coaching, administration, even just helping setting up the pitch for a game on a Saturday.
Could you run a stall for a couple of hours at our annual prize giving?
Are you an ideas person who could offer some creativity and novelty to our programme?
We operate on an informal basis and within pleasant surroundings.

How much time would I need to commit?

The simple answer is as much or a little as you can afford.  Everyone has busy lives and varying commitments and hence no offer will be turned down, no matter how small.   We are not asking for people to take on the running of the club (unless you want to that is!!!) it’s more a case of spreading the load and utilising as many skills as possible to make Timperley Villa the strongest sporting club in the community.
