Football & You
We are an FA Standard Charter Club and we absolutely adhere both to the letter and spirit of what the FA is trying to achieve with youth football.
A critical element in increasing the enjoyment that our children get from playing football is you (the parents) & your behaviour. It is simply not acceptable to behave in the way you might at a professional game when watching young children playing or refereeing for their fun
To understand what is acceptable we plead that you spend a few minutes & go to:-
You could even take a test at:-
For clarity, the Club has a zero tolerance policy that it will enforce:-
The FA is administered through County authorities and we are associated to Cheshire. Within Cheshire we play under the administration of the Timperley & District Junior Football League.
Club Welfare - Safeguarding Children
Safeguarding Children is everyone's responsibility and having Welfare Officers in all clubs and leagues with youth teams is crucial to The FA’s simple three part approach to safeguarding. This includes:
- Getting the right people involved – carrying out references and CRB checks
- Creating a safe environment - codes of conduct, education and best practice
- Promoting clear systems - to deal with any concerns - policy and procedures
The Club Welfare Officers for Timperley Villa YFC are:
- Andy Gorman – 07973 919823
- Julie Larkin - 0161 980 2535
Should you have any Welfare concerns, we would encourage you to report these in the first instance to either one of the TVYFC Club Welfare Officers.
Assistance or guidance can also be obtained from:
- Timperley & District League Welfare Officer – Sheila Saddington - 07912 012595
- Cheshire County FA Welfare Officer – Andy Ridgway - 01606 871166
- The FA Child Protection Team - 020 7745 4649
- The FA/NSPCC Child Protection 24-Hour Helpline - 0808 800 5000
Where Managers or others observe instances of Poor Practice during matches, these should be reported to one of the TVYFC Welfare Officers in order that the TVYFC ‘Child Protection Reporting’ procedures can be implemented as appropriate.
Managers should not attempt to deal with situations themselves, beyond ensuring the immediate well-being of the child involved, but should report matters to the CWO for follow-up.
